Common questions
How do I join?
You need your own copy of Project Zomboid. Open the in-game server browser and search for Dawn of the Dead, or connect directly to IP 5.39.74.81, port 16261 — there is no whitelist, no application and no password. The mods download automatically the first time you join. Before your first join, set your Steam profile and game details to Public, playtime included, so you pass our automatic Steam Audit. It runs only once — you can set them back to private right after.
Is it PVP or PVE?
PVE. We never were and never will be a PVP server, so nobody can kill you for your bag. The zombies are quite enough.
Is it good for new players?
Yes. We aim for a casual PVE experience, but also offer harder challenges for veteran players. There are no global sprinters, but we offer remote zones with elevated difficulty and better rewards. If this is your first time playing Project Zomboid multiplayer, this is the right place to learn and experience it.

Waiting for the board — this fills in once the server's latest save has been read.
Where these numbers come from. The server writes a world save every 30 minutes, and this board is rebuilt from it. Kills, deaths, balances and levels are therefore up to half an hour behind the moment they happened — the reading's own age is shown above.
Banked is not wealth. It counts money deposited in the in-game bank. Cash carried in a rucksack is not counted, and a great deal of the money on this server never touches an account — so this is a ranking of depositors, not of the rich.
Survived is your longest single life this season, in in-game hours, whether that life is still running or already ended. Dying does not erase it.
Level is your DOTD level this season. It is kept through death. Players on the same level are ordered by XP.

Pictures come from 📷|showcase on our Discord and are copied here, so this page loads nothing from Discord. Want a post of yours taken down? Open a ticket in 📞|support.
Support · Failed ChecksumChecksum check
Kicked with “Failed Checksum”? Put in your SteamID or the name you play under, and this will tell you which mod caused it and what to do about it. The lookup runs in your browser — what you type is never sent anywhere or written down.
What this reads. The server keeps a security log of every file a joining client reported that did not match the server's own copy. This page looks up the most recent such record for one account and nothing else — no history, no IP address, no ban status, no play data.
Why the raw file list is useless on its own. The server logs paths like /media/lua/client/… with no mod attached, so the same line can mean “a mod you have is out of date” or “a base-game file you must never delete”. Telling those apart is the entire job of this page.
Still stuck? Open a ticket in 📞|support on Discord and say what this page told you. If it says there are no failures on record and you are still being kicked, that is worth reporting — it means something else is wrong.
